Rather than replacing the entire existing 6-inch Class A chimney with a new 4-inch PelletVent Pro system, the 4PVP-X6 allows the 4-inch PelletVent Pro vent run to transition into the existing larger chimney at the support box or wall thimble level, utilizing the existing chimney infrastructure above that transition point and preserving the investment in the existing chimney installation.

The 6-inch DuraTech, DuraPlus, or DuraPlus HTC support box and wall thimble are designed to accept the DuraTech twist-lock connection interface at their bottom opening, not the PelletVent Pro connection interface. The 4PVP-X6 transitions the PelletVent Pro 4-inch vent run up to the 6-inch diameter, but the top of the 4PVP-X6 still presents the PelletVent Pro connection geometry rather than the DVL/DuraBlack interface that the 6-inch support box or wall thimble requires at its bottom.
