In wood fireplace insert installations, the flexible stainless steel chimney liner descends through the masonry chimney from the chimney top and must connect to the insert's flue collar at the bottom. When the chimney flue centerline does not align directly with the insert's flue outlet, a direct connection is not possible without accommodating the horizontal offset between the two points.
