Description

The DuraVent Stove Pipe DTL Chimney Pipe SS 5" x 18", part number 5DT-18SS, is a 5-inch diameter stainless steel chimney pipe section designed to be used as part of a vertical stovepipe and chimney system for wood or solid fuel burning stoves. This 18-inch long section provides a transition from the stovepipe connector into the chimney system, adding length and structural continuity to the venting run while maintaining durable, corrosion-resistant performance. Manufactured to the original DuraVent specifications, it is suitable for high-temperature venting applications and connects directly to other DuraVent DTL components without modification.

5” - 8” Diameters - Designed for appliances that are tested and listed for use with a 2100°F HT chimney system, such as wood stoves, fireplaces, furnaces, boilers, ranges, water heaters, or other appliances fueled by wood, oil, coal, or gas. Available in stainless steel (5"-8" SS) or galvalume (6"-8" GA) outer casing and stainless steel inner wall with twist-lock connections. DuraTech 24”, 36”, 48”, and 60” chimney pipe available with additional protective carton filler (CF) for shipping.

This chimney pipe section is intended for use in building a complete vent termination system above a wood stove, fireplace insert, or other solid fuel appliance where a double-wall vent is required for code-compliant installations. The double-wall design of DTL pipe provides improved heat retention in the flue gases, reducing creosote buildup and enhancing draft performance. Installation should follow the stove manufacturer’s venting instructions and local building codes to ensure proper clearances from combustibles, secure joint connections, and adequate support for the vertical vent run.

What’s Included: One (1) DuraVent double-wall stainless steel stove pipe/chimney pipe section, 5" diameter × 18" length.

Installation Limits: For use only as part of a complete DuraVent DTL double-wall chimney system; install with appropriate support, maintain required clearances, and follow all venting codes and manufacturer specifications.

Compatibility: Compatible with other 5" DuraVent DTL double-wall stove pipe and chimney venting components in systems requiring 5" diameter venting.

Product FAQ

Q. What is the DuraVent 5DT-18SS chimney pipe section?

A. It is a 5" diameter double-wall stainless steel chimney pipe section used to add vertical length in a DuraVent DTL stove venting system.

Q. What kind of appliances can use this pipe?

A. It is suited for wood stoves, fireplace inserts, or other solid fuel appliances requiring a 5" double-wall vent system.

Q. Why choose double-wall chimney pipe?

A. Double-wall construction helps retain heat in the flue gases, supports better draft, and can reduce creosote buildup compared to single-wall pipe.

Q. Can this section be installed alone?

A. No; this section must be installed as part of a complete DTL chimney system with proper support and clearances.

Q. What safety measures should be followed during installation?

A. Maintain required clearances to combustibles, secure joints, and follow the stove and vent manufacturer instructions to meet code requirements.

Q. What happens if the vent run is too short?

A. A vent run that is too short can lead to poor draft, increased creosote buildup, and reduced appliance performance.
