Heating Equipment Built for Alaska's Climate:

Anchorage averages 11 to 23°F in January. The record low is -38°F. For much of rural Alaska, those numbers are moderate.

Standard heating equipment is not designed for these conditions. Products selected for the lower 48 lose efficiency, fail prematurely, or simply are not built for the fuel types and installation environments that define Alaska. Oil Heaters: NordicStove, Toyotomi

Oil-fired and oil drip heaters are the most reliable heating option for remote Alaska properties, off-grid cabins, and locations without natural gas service. Non-electric operation means these units continue to heat when the power goes out.

We carry NordicStove oil drip heaters and Toyotomi oil heaters, selected for their reliability in extreme cold and suitability for Alaska use cases, from Anchorage homes to bush communities.

Direct-Vent Wall Furnaces: Rinnai, Eskabe

Direct-vent wall furnaces use a sealed combustion system with a coaxial pipe through the exterior wall. No chimney required. Combustion air comes from outside. In Alaska's extreme cold, sealed combustion eliminates backdraft risk and freeze-related flue problems common with older venting systems.

Rinnai's EX Series is the most widely specified direct-vent wall furnace for residential and commercial use in Alaska. For properties where complete non-electric operation is required, we also carry Eskabe's DVEL Series, direct-vent gas stoves in 8,000, 11,000, and 17,000 BTU outputs that run without electricity. We stock natural gas and propane configurations across both brands, along with DuraVent venting components.
 

Water Heaters: Rinnai, Bosch, Toyotomi

We carry tankless water heaters (Rinnai and Bosch), oil-fired water heaters (Toyotomi), and propane-fired water heaters. Products are selected for cold-water supply temperatures, freeze protection requirements, and Alaska plumbing code compliance.
 

Air Conditioners and Mini Splits: Gree

Anchorage summers are warming. Most local homes were built without cooling systems, and ductless mini-split heat pumps are now the most practical solution for both cooling and supplemental heating during the shoulder season. We carry Gree mini-splits and other AC units. Stock is seasonal.
 

Heat Exchangers and System Components: Ergomax

For Alaska heating systems that use hydronic loops, boilers, or combination setups, we carry the Ergomax E23 Heat Exchanger. Heat exchangers transfer thermal energy between fluid loops, enabling zone control, boiler loop isolation, and waste heat recovery in more complex heating installations.
